Search Fulton County Inmate Records

Fulton County inmate records begin with the county jail roster for people booked into local custody. A Fulton County jail roster search can help locate current jail records, recent booking status, and release-date filters when the online system responds. The same search does not cover every custody setting in Georgia. Sentenced state prisoners, federal inmates, immigration detainees, and victim-notification records each use a different lookup channel. To look up Fulton County inmates accurately, start with the county jail record system, then move to the proper state, federal, phone, front desk, or open-records path when the online roster is incomplete.

Fulton County Jail Roster Overview

The official Fulton County inmate records path starts at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office inmate-search page. That page sends users to Tyler/Odyssey Public Access, branded as Fulton County Georgia Inmate Records and Fulton County Jail Records. The sheriff's page says the database is free to the public and to the Fulton justice system. It is updated once per day, and the office gives no warranty that the roster is complete or accurate. That point matters in Fulton County because the jail system includes the Rice Street main jail, sheriff annexes, city detention beds used by agreement, state corrections sites, and federal or ICE custody inside Atlanta.

County jail records are the right starting point for people arrested in Fulton County and booked into the Fulton County Jail system. They are not the right source for every person with an Atlanta or Fulton connection. A sentenced state offender may move to the Georgia Department of Corrections offender query. A federal inmate uses the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. An immigration detainee uses the ICE Online Detainee Locator System. VINELink Georgia can send custody-status alerts, but it is not a full replacement for the Fulton County jail roster.

The Fulton sheriff roster screenshot in the official inmate-search source shows the county landing page and its daily-update disclaimer.

The disclaimer should be read with each Fulton County inmate lookup because an online result can lag behind booking, release, transfer, or court action.

Use the Fulton County Inmate Roster

The direct roster route is the Tyler/Odyssey jail-records menu and its Jailing Search form. During research, the form loaded without a manual sign-in or payment, though the automated public-access session displayed account-style links such as Logout, My Account, Search Menu, and Help. Use exact names when possible. Fulton County inmate records can be missed when a name is misspelled, recently entered, or still moving through intake.

  1. Open the sheriff inmate-search page and select the inmate database, or go to the Tyler/Odyssey jail-records menu.
  2. Leave the location selector at All Locations unless the portal offers a better location choice for the search.
  3. Search by Defendant with last name and first name. Add middle name or date of birth when the name is common.
  4. Switch to Booking Number when that number is known from the jail, bond office, court paperwork, or a family contact.
  5. Use booking-date and release-date ranges for a recent arrest, a release search, or a common name.
  6. Call or visit the Fulton County Jail front desk if the roster returns an error or no result for a person believed to be in custody.

Fulton County Roster Search Fields

The Fulton Tyler/Odyssey form is more specific than a simple name box. It supports name searches, booking-number searches, date filters, and location selection. Bond-status fields were present in the form code but hidden or inactive during inspection, so they should not be treated as a confirmed public search option. The field set below is useful when calling the jail too, because staff may ask for the same identifiers.

Fulton County Inmate Record Fields

A live Fulton County inmate profile could not be reliably inspected during research because test postbacks returned a Tyler Public Access Error. For that reason, Fulton County inmate records should not be described as confirmed to show a public mugshot, housing pod, full charge table, bond amount, or demographic profile in the online roster. The confirmed public facts are narrower: the search form fields are visible, and Fulton County's official jail page says charge and bond information is available through Arrest Inquiry, phone, or the Main Jail Front Desk.

Note: Treat online Fulton County inmate profile details as unconfirmed unless the live Tyler profile opens and shows the field.

Fulton County Jail Record Fallbacks

When the online jail roster is slow, incomplete, or unavailable, Fulton County publishes several access channels. For charge and bond information, call 404-613-2002 or 404-662-3516. The main Fulton County Jail number is 404-613-2000. The Main Jail Front Desk is in the lobby of Fulton County Jail at 901 Rice Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30318, and it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In-person checks are useful when the roster has not caught up to intake, release, transfer, or a court order.

Formal records requests go through the Fulton County Open Records Center. New users create an account, select Sheriff from the department dropdown when the records are sheriff records, describe the records sought, and submit the request. The sheriff's open-records instructions also point requesters to the countywide portal. Booking-photo requests have a separate affirmation form, so do not fold photo requests into a generic inmate-record request without that attachment.

Fulton County, GDC, BOP, and ICE

Fulton County inmate records follow the custody system, not the person's home address or arrest city. A person booked after a local arrest starts in the county jail pipeline. If convicted and sentenced to a Georgia prison term, the person moves to GDC custody and should be searched in the state offender query. Federal criminal custody routes through BOP, while immigration detention routes through ICE. FCI Atlanta sits in Fulton County, but it is not part of the Fulton sheriff roster.

The Fulton Co. Sheriff's Office GA app also advertises jail inmate roster search, sex-offender search, public-safety news, tips, and contact tools. The official launch did not prove that the app has more roster fields than the website, so it should be treated as another access point, not as a confirmed app-only record source.

Fulton County Jail Facilities

Fulton County custody is split across the main jail, sheriff annexes, city detention beds, state corrections sites, and federal or immigration facilities. The county jail roster is most relevant to the sheriff-operated jail system. State prison and federal locations require their own locators even when the facility address is in Atlanta.

Fulton County Booking and Intake

Fulton County's official jail page says arrested people are first transported to the Main Jail for property intake, medical screening, fingerprinting, photographing, and a warrants check. Processing time can change based on the number of arrestees and the availability of state or national database information. The booking record begins inside that intake flow, but a new name may not appear in the public roster right away. A newly booked person may also bond out before a full public search result is easy to find.

For arrestees who do not bond out, Fulton says first appearance before a judge routinely occurs within 24 hours after arrest. Weekend arrests appear before a judge on Monday. The judge advises the person of charges and may address bond. In misdemeanor cases, the judge may accept a plea and release the person on recognizance or time served. In felony cases, bond can be raised or lowered, and supervised ROR screening can delay release.
